Activision and Infinity Ward have announced that new maps for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be available on Wednesday, December 18 for FREE.

The new maps include the maps teased in the Season 1 Roadmap: Vacant and Shipment, both fan favorite Call of Duty maps returning to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Here’s the new content coming:

• MP Maps: Vacant and Shipment
• GUNFIGHT Maps: Winter version of Docks – “Over Winter” and Shipment
• MP Modes: Cranked and more

Season One continues. Jump in on December 18 and revisit classic maps like Vacant and Shipment. Grind the new multiplayer game mode Cranked, and experience all-new Special Ops missions.

This new content drop continues Season 1 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 1 launched on December 3 with new maps, Battle Pass, and more. The season is expected to end in late January/early February.

Infinity Ward’s Game Designer has responded on Twitter to calls bring Gunfight standard back to the rotation in Modern Warfare.

Fans have been asking for it back since Gunfight OSP replaced it for a limited time only. Infinity Ward’s Joe Cecot confirmed earlier this week on Reddit Gunfight standard would return, and now so as Mickner.

He also noted that there will be other “redacted” variations of the mode coming soon, and they will also work to keep standard in rotation with variations.

The PlayStation Blog has revealed the best selling games on the PlayStation 4 Store for the month of November, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is #1.

The title was also #1 in October, during its launch month. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare continues to be one of the best selling Call of Duty games on this console generation.

The NPD also revealed on December 12 that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was the best selling game of 2019 in the US.

Despite fan frustrations with some aspects of the game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare continues to be extremely popular in terms of sales. The game continues to also be the most played game on Xbox One in the last few weeks, jumping between #1 and #2 spot with Fortnite.

The NPD Group has released the data for video games sales of November 2019 in the US.

The results showed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare continues to be the best selling game of the year alongside the #1 game for November 2019.

Here’s the full list of the top of November 2019 in the US, which featured the debut of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Death Stranding. Modern Warfare remained #1, with Star Wars game coming in at #2.

And here’s a look at the best selling games for 2019, from January 1 through November 30. Modern Warfare is #1 again.

Call of Duty is now #1 best selling game in the US for the last 9 of 10 years, and per the NPD Group has generated the most revenue out any franchise in the NPD tracked history.

Activision has not released the latest sales data on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The latest information was back during the launch week, where the company said Modern Warfare generated $600 million in its opening weekend, making it the best selling Call of Duty game on current generation consoles.

Per new tweets from international PlayStation channels, including PlayStation Europe and PlayStation France, there’s an additional map available now in Survival Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is exclusively on PS4 till October 1, 2020.

The tweet from PlayStation EU is a video showcasing that St. Petrograd MP map is now part of Survival mode. At launch, Survival mode only had 3 maps to play from.

Activision and Infinity Ward have not officially announced its introduction into Survival mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare yet, but it appears the map was added when Season 1 started.

As noted before, Survival mode is exclusively on PS4 till October 1, 2020.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PlayStation 4 features exclusive Mission Challenges that allows exclusive cosmetic content to be unlocked for PS4 players.

These three Missions have been available only on PlayStation 4 since the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Now, PlayStation has tweeted out a video of the new PlayStation exclusive content and confirmed that the Mission Challenges are timed exclusive on PlayStation till October 1, 2020 – the same time the Survival Mode exclusivity ends.

Activision said before the launch of Modern Warfare that Survival mode would be the “only piece of exclusive content” in the game for PS4, but these Mission Challenges are now also exclusive content pieces for PS4.

Infinity Ward has released a new in-game patch update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The new update is an in-game patch, so the in-game settings will be updated to download the new updates. This is not a new title update.

Infinity Ward has shared the patch notes on Reddit, which details updates to weapons not appearing correctly in-game, bug fixes across the board in challenges and and more.

GENERAL FIXES:

• Fix for the R9-0 Smoothebore not appearing correctly in-game
• Fix for the “Smooth Dominator” not appearing correctly in-game
• Fix for the “Heat Cycle” weapon not appearing correctly in-game
• Fix for a bug where equipping the “Old Wounds” LMG could cause an error, kicking players out of the menu
• Operator challenge descriptions have been updated to indicate that a specific Operator must be equipped in order to complete the challenge
• If you reached a new rank while in the middle of a match and perform the criteria to complete a challenge you just unlocked, progress would not show in the UI until you entered a new match. We’ve done some backend work to help improve this.
• Fix for Objective 2 of Mara’s Operator Mission showing a placeholder name ‘Desert Work’ for the reward
• Fix for Wyatt’s Calling Card appearing with the incorrect rarity
• Fix for the Cluster Strike’s missiles getting stuck on surfaces without detonating and playing looping audio the remainder of the match
• Fix for exploits in Special Operations: Survival

Infinity Ward has released the latest Game Settings Update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on December 10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The new Game Settings Update has adjusted the playlists available in-game in MP.

There’s two new playlists available:

• Infected (Multiplayer Mode): It’s hunt or be hunted in this survival party game mode!
• On Site Procurement (O.S.P.) (Gunfight Mode): A tactically rich 2v2 mode with a twist: Begin with just your fists, and gather equipment as the match progresses.
• Aniyah Palace added to Ground War!

Alongside the new playlists, the in-game shop has been updated with two new Bundles to pick from including:

• ‘Cold Blood’ bundle is fit for a cold and hardened Operator. Pick it up to look fierce in the ‘Winter Warrior’ skin for Golem take out the competition with the ‘White Out’ handgun weapon blueprint, or take some time with the ‘Precious Commodity’ watch, and more. Get this collection of chill items to look the part of a stone-cold killer. 
• ‘Mother Russia’ Featured Bundle. The bundle includes the ‘Commuter’ Operator skin for Yegor to blend in with the locals, the ‘Old Country’ LMG weapon blueprint for high damage eliminations, the “Brass Tactics” Finishing Move to pummel your enemies, and more. Get the ‘Mother Russia’ bundle for themed good from the Motherland.

The two new playlists and the shop rotate out on December 18.

Infinity Ward’s Senior Communications Manager has commented on a Reddit post where users were asking about a roadmap or some sort of “what’s happening in MW” style of posts from Infinity Ward.

Williams has confirmed that such posts will be coming in the future, but she did not provide an actual date for when to expect this information.

This is coming.

The response comes on a post where users were complaining about some of the latency and matchmaking issues where ping was dramatically higher for players. The CM replied giving a description as to why some recent games have seen higher latency when playing. There was a bug in game where users will be match made on the wrong patch versions which was resulting in higher pings for some players.

We found a bug in our patch system where a small percentage of players were not able to properly obtain the latest patch, meaning this percentage of players were not getting matchmade with the larger playerbase who are on the latest patch. This lobby formed as a result of that bug and since there were so few players playing on the older patch, you all ended up playing together.

We’re actively rolling out a fix for this on the backend and have a fix for our patching system that will go live with our next title update so we can prevent this from happening in the future. Hope this provides some insight and apologies for the bug!
